What is the route of the Ibiza Marathon
The Ibiza Marathon route is a point-to-point race that crosses four of the island's five municipalities. It starts at the Port of Eivissa, next to the Passeig Marítim, and from there heads inland toward Santa Eulària des Riu.
Between kilometres 12 and 16 comes the section with the most accumulated elevation gain on the whole course, before reaching Santa Gertrudis around kilometre 22, the circuit's highest point and also the race's halfway mark.
The closing stretch descends toward the island's east coast to finish in Santa Eulària des Riu, with the finish line set right by the sea and timed to coincide with sunset — one of the most distinctive finishes on the whole Spanish marathon calendar.

Where to stay for the Ibiza Marathon
Since this is a point-to-point race, from Ibiza Port (start) to Santa Eulària des Riu (finish), it's most practical to stay near the finish, in Santa Eulària des Riu, and take the race-organised buses to the start.
Nearby areas like Es Canar, Cala Llonga or Cap Martinet are also good options if Santa Eulària is fully booked.
The marathon takes place in April, but May-September is when hotel demand peaks in Ibiza; even so, it's worth booking in advance.
Getting there from the airport for the Ibiza Marathon
Ibiza Airport is about 8 km from Ibiza Town, connected by bus line L10, which also reaches Ibiza Port (the marathon's starting point).
The bus runs every 20-30 minutes (every 15 in July and August) and the ticket costs €3.60, payable directly to the driver.
If your accommodation is in Santa Eulària des Riu, you'll need a taxi or rental car from the airport, since the L10 doesn't reach there.
