What is the route of the Maratón BP Castellón 2027
The BP Castellón Marathon features one of the fastest and flattest marathon courses in Spain, making it ideal for runners chasing a personal best or tackling the distance for the first time. The race starts on Avenida Vila-real, in front of El Corte Inglés, with a wide and comfortable opening section perfect for settling into pace early on.
The course runs through some of Castellón’s main avenues on a fast urban layout with long straight sections that help maintain a steady rhythm. One of the highlights of the race comes near the Grao de Castellón, where runners enjoy sea views and an almost completely flat profile.
This edition focuses even more on the city centre, removing some of the outer sections from previous years to create a livelier atmosphere and more crowd support during the final kilometres. That extra energy makes the toughest part of the marathon much easier mentally.
The final stretch heads back towards the centre of Castellón on very favourable terrain, ideal for pushing the pace before the finish line. With its wide avenues, minimal elevation and few sharp turns, the BP Castellón Marathon is considered one of the fastest and most attractive marathons in Spain.

Where to stay for the Maratón BP Castellón 2027
The finish is at Parque Ribalta, right in the centre of Castellón de la Plana, so the Old Town (Casco Antiguo) is the most practical area to stay: within walking distance of most services and also very close to the train and bus station.
If you'd rather be near the beach, El Grao de Castelló is an interesting alternative: it's a seaside fishing neighbourhood that the marathon route itself passes through, with a great choice of seafood restaurants.
Castellón is a small, easy-to-manage city, so either area will leave you a reasonable distance from the start and finish.
Getting there from the airport for the Maratón BP Castellón 2027
Castellón de la Plana has its own airport, Castellón-Costa Azahar Airport, about 30 km from the city, although its flight offering is limited (mainly Ryanair and Volotea, with routes to several European cities and domestic flights to Madrid).
For most runners, the most practical option is usually to fly into Valencia Airport (about 65 km away) and continue by regional train (line C6) to Castellón, a journey of roughly 1 hour 10-15 minutes with frequent departures throughout the day.
If you have a direct connection to Castellón-Costa Azahar from your origin, that's by far the most convenient option; otherwise, Valencia usually offers far more frequencies and destinations.
