Where to stay for the 2ª Maratón Internacional Elche-Alicante
Since the race finishes in Alicante, most runners prefer to stay there: the area between Plaza de la Estrella and Puerta de San Francisco, in the centre, leaves both the beach and points of interest 10-15 minutes' walk away.
Playa del Postiguet, the closest beach to the centre, is another practical option if you'd rather be by the sea without going too far.
Since the start is in Elche, you'll need to travel there on race morning (usually by organised buses or train), so it's worth checking the meeting point in advance.
Getting there from the airport for the 2ª Maratón Internacional Elche-Alicante
Alicante-Elche Airport is very well connected to central Alicante by the C-6 bus, running 24/7 with departures every 15-20 minutes, stopping at key points like the train station, bus station and Plaza de los Luceros.
The ticket costs €4.60. There's no direct train or metro connection from the airport.
Since the airport sits roughly halfway between Elche and Alicante, it's also a practical option if you'd rather stay in Elche, near the start.
