What is the route of the Holy Grail Marathon 2027

The Maratón del Santo Grial route is a point-to-point race that starts in Barracas and finishes in Navajas, following almost entirely the Vía Verde de Ojos Negros, the old railway line that gives this Castellón area its Holy Grail legend.

On its way to the finish, the marathon crosses the towns of Caudiel and Jérica, the same municipalities where the event's shorter distances (21K and 10K) begin, sharing the final stretch of the course with them.

It's an unconventional route on the Spanish marathon calendar: around 90% runs on dirt track and asphalt along the old greenway, combining nature, history and a net downhill profile that makes it appealing to anyone looking for something different from an urban marathon.

Where to stay for the Holy Grail Marathon 2027

The finish line is in Navajas, a small village with limited accommodation (rural houses and a couple of hotels), so you can also stay in Segorbe, just 10 minutes away by car, with more hotel options.

If you'd rather stay near the marathon start, the Barracas and Caudiel area also has a few rural houses, though with less choice than Segorbe.
